Yes and no. Although each winery has different group policies, if your group is 10 or more, we recommend making reservations with each winery to insure that they are appropriately staffed for your group and can accommodate parking. Generally, you do not need reservations for groups smaller than 10.
First, you’ll need to know how many people will be in your group, what wineries you plan to visit and the duration of your visit. Second, designate a friend or family member as a designated driver or contact our transportation partners, click here. Allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy the wine tasting experience. First, and foremost, please be responsible!
A tasting consists of a half ounce to one ounce of different varieties to sample. Tastings are meant to help guide you to the wine/s you would like to purchase.
Prices vary at each winery, generally $3-$15 per winery, per person, and includes 3-10 different products at each winery, and may include distilled spirits and hard ciders. Some specialty wines, spirits, with limited small batches may have an additional charge.

Event FAQ
Events are never canceled, even winter ones.
The wineries all have different hours of operation through out the year. Some close for the winter season until spring, while others remain open or have a seasonal schedule. It’s best to check the wineries web page or social media page for hours before visiting.
Yes! All of the wineries on the trail are open for regular business during wine trail events, but you will not receive any of the event items, such as a souvenir glass, the food tasting, wreath, ornaments, etc..
Be sure to check the wineries page for hours before visiting. Please note: The Hudson Valley Wine Tasting Passport is not valid during SWT events.
No. Advance tickets for all Shawangunk Wine Trail events are only available online. Please note that all ticket sales close on the Thursday prior to event date, unless noted in event description. There are no ticket sales at the door.

The two-day event tickets are good for the entire weekend, with one visit per winery during event hours. We also offer a Sunday only ticket, which is good for that day only during event hours. Some try to see all in one day, and others spread it out. We always recommend making a weekend of it to experience the wine trail and all it offers to its fullest!
A starting point is where you will check-in to the event, pick up your event items; glass, wreath, ornament, and other items specific to each event. Starting points also help us manage the flow of people, to enhance your experience, without too many bodies crowded into one winery all at the same time.
Tickets are non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged for another event. If the event is 2 weekends, it cannot be switched for the other weekend. The ticket, however, can be transferred to another person if you’re unable to attend. To begin the name transfer process, you MUST contact us at 845-256-8456 during regular business hours (M-F 9am-5pm) within 72 hours of the scheduled event.
No. Each weekend has a specific amount of people that can be allowed in order for the wineries to be able to prepare the right amount of food. If you switch, you or another attendee may not get the promised items from the event.
